Kalyan Dhev, Chiranjeevi's son-in-law, has released his latest flick Super Machi, which was released today. Let's see what happens.
Story:
Meenakshi (Rachita Ram) works for a high-paying software company. Raju, a failing singer, becomes her love interest (Kalyan Dhev). The irony is that Meenakshi is smitten by Raju even before she sees him. Raju, on the other hand, is uninterested in Meenakshi and avoids her at all costs. Why is Meenakshi so enamoured of Raju? What is the reason for Raju's aversion to Meenakshi? What is going to happen when this pair finally gets together? The rest of the story is based on this.
Plus Points:
The way a girl falls in love and goes through the pain to win it appears to be admirable. The interval sequence has been well-represented as well. In addition, the father's track with Rajendra Prasad appears promising.
When compared to his debut film, Kalyan Dhev has come a long way. The way he displayed his emotions in important scenes was impressive. He's also working on his dances and delivery of dialogue.
Rachita Ram, the heroine, performs admirably in her pivotal part. Posani and Jabardast Mahesh appear in a few funny situations. Rajendra Prasad too does a good job in his role.
Minus Points:
The heroine is head over heels in love with the guy. To make the narration more gripping, more scenes relevant to this element could have been incorporated. The first half is languid, and instead of emphasising the conflict, director Puli Vasu focuses on the suspense aspect of the love story, which becomes tedious.
The absence of gloss in the hero's character is one of the film's main flaws. It is not adequately elevated, and despite his best efforts, Kalyan Dhev finds it difficult to correct the situation. The film's pace is languid, and the climax appears rushed.
Technical Aspects:
Thaman's music is good, and the production values were good as well. The dialogue and camera work were both excellent. The editing is terrible, and the movie moves at a glacial pace. Vasu, the filmmaker, has done a lousy job with the film because his narration lacks basic force.
Verdict:
Super Machi is a romance drama that fails to engage on the whole. This film suffers from a lack of strong tension and sufficient drama, making it a dull watch this Sankranti season.
